What is Faith? My personal definition is, “believing something exists or will happen before it actually does. Belief in the unseen. To me, Unwavering Faith means you are able to focus on your priorities through the emotional roller coaster of life.
How do I keep unwavering faith? Each day begins with an act of gratitude and reading scripture. It’s calm and quite in the morning. There are zero distractions. My mind is clear and able to focus on what is most important to me-Listening, receiving, and executing God’s message specifically towards me.
But, how can I believe God exists when there is bad seemingly everywhere in this world?
Suffering is a harsh fact of this fallen world.
What worse, believing there is a God, an almighty force not if this physical world, or belief there is not?
I’ll answer my own question–what’s worse is letting bad things, terrible awful events, actions infect our will to live. What is worse is allowing fear, shame or guilt overwhelm us and keep us silent. What is worse is drifting hopelessly.
Trust comes with unwavering faith. With trust comes the inclination to take risks. With risks comes life. When we take a leap of faith and begin to follow our passion, our purpose in life we are demonstrating unwavering faith.
We aren’t here very long. The impact we make on this planet matters. The smallest things we do matter. I have one life to live. I will live it to my absolute greatest potential.
That’s why I chose to believe in God.
There is a lot of bad out there, but as Sam from The Lord of the Rings once said, “…there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for.”
